The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced online registration for ad-hoc staff ahead of the Anambra State governorship election.
The application process opened on Monday, September 15, and will close on October 5, 2025, according to a notice posted on INEC’s official X handle.
“The INECPRES is for registration of eligible ad-hoc staff (Supervisory Presiding Officers (SPOs), Presiding Officers (POs), Assistant Presiding Officers (APOs), Registration Technicians (RATECHs), and RAC Managers for the Anambra State 2025 Governorship Election,” the notice stated.
Eligibility criteria released by the commission specify that applicants must be residents of Anambra, Delta, Enugu, or Imo states. However, RATECH positions are strictly reserved for INEC ICT staff.
INEC also stressed that applicants must not belong to any political party or publicly endorse any candidate.
Supervisory Presiding Officers will be selected from the federal public or civil service and Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) within specified grade levels. Presiding Officers and Assistant Presiding Officers will be drawn from serving or recent members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), INEC staff, and qualified students of federal tertiary institutions.
The commission clarified that RAC Managers would typically be chosen from hosting schools or institutions, usually the head of school or designated staff at the appropriate grade level.
Interested candidates are advised to register online through the dedicated INECPRES web portal or via the Android mobile app.
INEC urged all applicants to carefully review the eligibility requirements before applying.
